Ybbstaler Brine Bath

The new brine pool in the centre of Göstling has four pools: an indoor and outdoor pool, a sports pool and a children's pool. Also: slide, steam bath, three saunas, massage, therapy, water gymnastics, aqua courses, restaurant and shop.

World of experience Mendlingtal

The theme trail, which is about two and a half kilometres long and equipped with informative display boards, begins at the village pond in Lassing. Easy to walk for the whole family, the newly laid out route leads to the beginning of the Mendlingbach gorges. The gorges are made accessible by well-secured footbridges and numerous wooden bridges. From the end point in Hof you can walk back through the valley.

Palfau, waterhole gorge

In the municipality of Palfau (Salzatal) there is the largest water-bearing cave in Styria - the waterhole. A climbing system adapted to nature with stable wooden stairs and bridges leads through the 900m long gorge. The rewarding ascent overcomes an altitude difference of 300m. The water rises from a cave and, on leaving it, plunges down over 5 magnificent waterfalls and flows into the white-water-bearing Salza River.

Lake Lunz

Hiking on the Hochkar

Adventurous hikes - for example with the 4-seater chairlift to the pre-peak and in 20 minutes walking time to the Hochkar peak (1,808m) with a wonderful view. This is also the starting point for the alpine tour Hochkar - Dürrenstein - Ötscher.

Ybbstal Cycle Path

Always along the Ybbs River, from the Danube to the mountain lake: the 107 km long Ybbs Valley Cycle Path provides magnificent nature and cycling experiences. Especially suitable for families and connoisseurs is the heart between Waidhofen an der Ybbs and Lunz am See.

The heart of the Ybbstalradweg between Waidhofen an der Ybbs and Lunz am See is closed during the winter months (November 1st to April 1st).

Wild Alps Hiking

The fascinating mountain world of the Wild Alps is a special experience for mountain climbers and nature lovers. Well hidden, Wildalpen lies between the Dürrenstein wilderness area, Gesäuse National Park and the imposing Eisenerz Alps on the north side of the Hochschwab.

The opportunities to stop for refreshments on a mountain tour are rare, and in the Wildalpen one is very careful in dealing with nature, because the water here is the highest priority and is transported from Hochschwab via Wildalpen to Vienna through valuable aqueducts of the II. Wiener HochquellenWasserleitung. Wildalpen is a spring and nature reserve.

wellenklaenge is the festival for contemporary art in Lunz am See (NÖ). The audience can expect an ambitious, multidisciplinary program consisting of about 20 events with concerts, artistry, film screenings and discussions. Artists from all over the world, from the USA to France and China, combine in their work historical and contemporary, classical and jazz, pop and rock as well as electronic and popular music.
